SEAMEN’S THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS

November 30, 2011

Thanksgiving came to Seamen’s in a variety of ways:

Once again, Seamen’s hosted a Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day, with the assistance of an enthusiastic army of volunteers. With the experienced volunteer guidance of caterer and restauranteur Kim Comfort, preparations began on Tuesday evening with vegetable peeling and ran through late afternoon on Thursday for clean up. Approximately 257 guests were served in the Mariner’s Lounge as well as in the Library, some 117 more than last year! We were so grateful to receive donations of volunteer time; borrowed buffet servers; discounts for rented items; homemade cranberry sauce, breads, pies and other desserts; beautiful floral centerpieces for every table; and financial contributions.

SCI Thankful for generosity of Cluny School students & faculty

The students and faculty of Cluny School delivered 14 very full baskets, including turkeys, just in time for SCI to distribute them to 14 very appreciative families.
